A Giddiup barn is an individual work of art and a valuable addition to the countryside. It evokes a sense of tradition and a closeness to the land, it excites the imagination and represent a whole way of life.

The exposed structural framework of our barns is a major component of the character. The enormous dimensions and the complex systems of beams and braces, posts and rafters are a formidable sight.

Inspired by classic American and European timber framed buildings, our barns also feature paired doors, gabled roofs and good ventilation. These architectural elements suit the Australian conditions – creating maximum airflow and a cool internal environment. The huge timber trusses also create large open spaces that can be utilised for a multitude of purposes – wedding venues, machinery sheds, hay storage, stables and barn living.

We source timber from old wharfs, railway bridges, boat hulls and country sale yards. Our timbers have their own interesting history and are notable for their magnificent size.

Barns can be used for a variety of purposes from homes to stables or garages. Clients can use pre- designed layouts or have a custom design. All designs can be made into 3D animations and full architectural drawings can be prepared for Development Applications.
